Golf Channel Information Architecture
Design Golf Channel's on-air information architecture system complete with a comprehensive toolkit and style guide.
Simplify and streamline the flow of program information on screen while minimizing the confusion with cross channel promotion of the same events on NBC. The golden ratio was used as the backbone of the layout and structure of the design. We created a robust typographic layout system to display the relevant information along with new color scheme and a range of animated backgrounds.
TYPOGRAPHY AND COLOR PALETTE
We simplified key information starting with days, times and dates. Reducing the days of the week and the months of the year to the first three letters of each word allowed us to increase the size of tune in information. Color treatment overlays gave consistency to the design and allowed for even greater legibility.
TUNE INS AND IDS
We developed single, double and triple displays, either horizontally or vertically formatted. This new screen grid system supports clear, instantly readable show titles, sponsor and network logos.
