Network Design
OVERVIEW
EDAN is the first bilingual (English and French) TV network to share black cultural experiences with the global community. EDAN is committed to providing authentic, innovative, intelligent, and engaging programming that inspires people and bridges communities from all over the world. Their content appeals to a sophisticated audience interested and passionate about black culture.
Channel Idents
Each facet of the star in the EDAN logo represents an ethnic group from the black community. The star itself represents the unity of a nation. We are one. Our concept is simple: we represent the diaspora of the African nation by having the individual triangles of the star come together in a variety of animations to form the EDAN logo. We believe the idea of separate elements coming together can be interpreted in diverse ways to create a strong collection of idents.
MENUS, ENDPAGES AND LOWER THIRDS
We developed a comprehensive style guide for tune-in menus, promo end pages and lower thirds. We refined the color palette to create a cohesive and responsive flow of information.
BACKGROUNDS AND TYPOGRAPHY
We created a toolkit of keyable elements to blend program footage with EDAN’s new identity. We selected Brandon Grotesque as the on screen typeface because of its strength, versatility and geometric-style sans serif qualities. It combines a functional look with a warm human appeal.
